Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE) boasts astonishingly long molecular chains, with weights reaching into the millions—typically between 2 and 6 million. Such impressive molecular integrity enhances intermolecular bonds, resulting in the pinnacle of impact strength among thermoplastics. UHMWPE offers an exceptionally low coefficient of friction, is self-lubricating, and exhibits outstanding resistance to abrasion, being 15 times more resistant than carbon steel. Its friction coefficient is considerably lower than that of Polyamide and Acetal and rivals PTFE, yet UHMWPE surpasses PTFE in abrasion endurance.
